A twitter account has been opened for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at @PMOIndia. The account will be managed by the Prime Ministers Office and occassionally tweeted by the PM himself. A verification on this account has been made by the Prime Minister's communications advisor Pankaj Pachauri as follows : "The Prime Minister's office is now on Twitter @PMOIndia Thank you for your support".
However online media is not that much frenzy over the PM's twitter entry. Many find it as an area for press release or just broadcasting the government information and not expect real tweeting from the account.
