Agneepath Reviews from Rediff, Times of India, NDTV

Mumbai, 26 January 2012: Agneepath (2012) starring Hrithik Roshan has been relased worldwide this week. The movie is directed by debutant Karan Malhotra, who has been working as the assistant director to Karan Johar. Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor forms the lead cast in the movie. The movie which is a remake of the popular movie Agneepath starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi etc which was released in 1990.

Here is what popular reviewers think about the movie.

Melodramatic, choir-inducing sentiment, ecstatic. Agneepath is that rare mainstream movie that is written well. - India today review - rating 4/5

With Bollywood being obsessed with remakes in recent times, Agneepath is an important lesson on how to pay proper tribute to the original. Despite the original being his home production, Karan Johar attempts playing with fire (treading uncharted territory) with Agneepath and emerge victorious. Agneepath has the fire for a lustrous entertainer - Times of India review - rating good

But here’s the thing. Watch this film because this one is unadulterated Bollywood entertainment- NDTV review - rating 3.5/5

Like its original, Agneepath is loud and lengthy revenge sage. And while not as blood-soaked or explicit, it bombards the screen with its escalated, larger-than-life tone, vivid colours and robust imagery.  - Rediff review - rating 3/5
